IMF Balance of Payments
Pilot SDMX Data Dissemination Site

The IMF Statistics Department has developed an SDMX coding structure (or Data Structure Definition - DSD) for the exchange of external sector’s data. It has been developed in close collaboration with the ECB and Eurostat, with the objective of meeting the data requirements of all three organizations for balance of payments, international investment position, and the data template on international reserves and foreign currency liquidity.

SDMX-ML data instances providing key balance of payments and international investment position statistics for all jurisdictions reporting data to IMF are provided below. The data files contain data for 75 series per country, grouped according to the regions defined in the IMF International Financial Statistics publication. Data are provided using the SDMX compact message format.
